She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
Tomorrow?

Will there be a fallout?
A day when you will turn your head
And I will no longer
See my reflection in your eyes
Vibrant
Alive
Beautiful
And having been molded by your touch
Will the shape of my shadow
Its confidence
Its depth
Be removed if you should disappear
As if I never had you here
As if I never had you near
I was whole without you
And without you I would be whole still
But if you were to go
I would not be the same
Just as I will never be
The girl I was
Before I heard you
Whisper my name

A Kiss to Venus
By Charity C. Tran
Let’s run away:
Into the stars
And above the chaos below
Let’s dance:
Along the rings
of Saturn
Skipping on rocks without care
Make a wish:
Think quick
Dig deep
Make it as grand as the greatest dare
Whisper:
A kiss to Venus.
Let’s run away.
